mod 14 "refoam" questian thread

these threads just drive me crazy!!! a guy asks for advice on a pair of classic speakers. fair enough. several people explain that the 12" drivers are nearly impossible to replace. and the logical thing to do would be to send them to someone who can provide the factory parts and service to restore the drivers to near new condition and performance.
the op then talks about sending them to a nearby electronics repair shop for some reason.
now i'm not saying that there are no other shops that could get the job done. but why take chances?
the shop may talk the op into or just use an aftermarket cone assb or a surround "that fits" but throws the whole thing out of balance.
so lo and behold he'll get his speakers back together and post "i'm just not as impressed by these model 14s as i thought i would be."

It's just aggravating. well is this case maybe the op will come around
